Summary:A user interface, a computer program product, a signal sequence as well as a means of moving forward and a method for user discrimination for touch-sensitive HMI surfaces (9) are proposed. The methodcomprises the steps: detecting (100) a hand (3) or an arm (4) together with the hand (3) of a user (1, 2) by means of a sensor (11), determining (200) a center of gravity (5 ) of the hand (3) or of anarm (4) together with the hand (3) of the user (1, 2) in the sensor signal, detecting (300) a touch point (7) of the hand (3) in contact with the touch-sensitive HMI surface (9), determining (400) anoffset (14) of the center of gravity (5) to the touch point (7) and in response thereto - discriminating (500) the user (1, 2) operating the HMI surface.
