Summary:A passive valve (200) for a fuel injector (10) is disclosed. It comprises a valve body (210) having a fluid outlet opening (2103), a sealing element (220) and a spring element (230). The passive valve (200) further comprises an elongated connection member (240) bridging an axial gap (202) between a second axial end (2302) of the spring element (230) and the sealing element (220). The spring element (230) is a tension spring and is preloaded by expansion so that it exerts a spring force on the connection member (240). The connection member (240) transfers the spring force to the sealing element (220). A fuel injector (10) and methods for producing the passive valve (200) and the fuel injector (10) are also disclosed.
