A cooler comprises a cooling plate being formed of a flat extruded profile made of aluminum or aluminum alloy and having a flat shape and including a plurality of refrigerant passages partitioned by a plurality of partition walls parallel to each other along a longitudinal direction. The cooler further comprises a first cutout portion, which is formed at one end of the cooling plate in the longitudinal direction, and is opened on an upper side and at an end portion in the longitudinal direction while leaving both side walls in a width direction. Furthermore, the cooler comprises a second cutout portion, which is formed at another end of the cooling plate in the longitudinal direction, and is opened on the upper side and at an end portion in the longitudinal direction while leaving both the side walls in the width direction. The cooler comprises a first upper lid member, which is joined to the first cutout portion, and has a refrigerant inlet port communicating to a refrigerant inlet side space formed by both the side walls and the cooler also comprises a second upper lid member, which is joined to the second cutout portion, and has a refrigerant outlet port communicating to a refrigerant outlet side space formed by both the side walls.
