The invention furthermore also relates to a method for producing a bearing ring for a bearing element, wherein a main body (1) of the bearing ring is produced from a polymer material, wherein at least one coating (2a) composed of an inorganic-organic hybrid polymer material is applied to at least part of the main body (1) in order to increase at least the load-bearing capacity and the media and temperature resistance of the bearing ring.
