Summary:A fuel cell system includes: a pretreatment device removing an impurity included in a fuel gas and increasing purity of methane; a reformer converting the fuel gas emitted from the pretreatment device into a reformed gas; and a fuel cell stack generating electricity by using the reformed gas. The pretreatment device includes an upgrading unit separating a byproduct gas including carbon dioxide from the fuel gas, and a carbon dioxide removing unit removing carbon dioxide included in the byproduct gas.
