The invention relates to a comminuting device (1) for reclaiming secondary raw materials (99) from discarded material (90), comprising the following: a first comminuting stage (10) with a supply channel (50) for supplying the discarded material (90) to a first housing (11) with a rotating impact tool (12) for comminuting the discarded material (90) into an impact-comminuted material fraction (91) and for generating an air vortex which passes the impact-comminuted material fractions (91) from the first comminuting stage (10) between the walls of a double-walled second housing (21) of a second comminuting stage (20) mounted downstream of the first comminuting stage (10), wherein the double-walled housing (21) of the second comminuting stage (20) is provided with a first screen on the outer wall (22) and a second screen on the inner wall (23), and finely comminuted material fractions (92, 93) reach a collection chamber (42, 43) mounted downstream of each screen through the corresponding screen. Advantageously, the permeability through the screens arranged on the double-walled housing (21) and the throughput are increased in the second comminuting stage. An embodiment for obtaining different grain size distributions using different screen arrangements is particularly preferred.
