Summary:The invention relates to a fully automatic process for producing hollow-thread bundles, wherein the thread strand wound on a two-point reel must be transported to a further-processing station, e.g., for wrapping film around the threads and fastening the threads by means of such film. For this purpose, economical solutions that enable flexible association between reels and further processing are sought. In the solution according to the invention, not the whole reel is pivoted for the further processing, but rather the thread strand (11) is removed from the reel in that the thread strand is grasped by two grippers (27, 28), cut through near the two supporting arms (2; 3), and transported to a possibly freely selectable further-processing station by means of a handling device (30). The severed thread pieces are suctioned from the region of the 180° deflection. Further-processing systems having short cycle times in comparison with the reeling operation can serve two or more reeling stations. The method is suitable for the processing of sensitive winding material, e.g., hollow fibers for dialysis filters, which is wound on a two-point reel and in the case of which it is permissible to cut through the thread strand.
