A print cartridge including a cartridge housing (127) having a container body (163) and a lid (10) that encloses the container body (163). The lid (10) includes a bottom surface (14) and a top surface (12). One or more air vent openings are formed through the entire thickness of the lid (10) from the top surface (12) to the bottom surface (14). A hydrophobic coating is disposed on at least one of the top or the bottom surfaces (12, 14) of the lid (10), with the hydrophobic coating being absent over the one or more air vent openings. The hydrophobic coating is deposited in liquid or gaseous form.
