The invention relates to a device (1) and a method for aligning articles combined into groups (3). The device (1) comprises a horizontal conveying device (5) for transporting the articles and/or parcelled goods combined into groups (3), said horizontal conveying device (5) extending through at least two working stations (20, 20', 30, 30') which are locally separated from one another and positioned along a transport direction (TR) of the horizontal conveying device (5). At least one first working station (20, 20') has two or more gripping devices (9) that can each travel and/or be moved in the transport direction (TR) of the horizontal conveying device (5), via which gripping devices at least one respective group (3) of combined articles (4) and/or parcelled goods, conveyed by the horizontal conveying device (5), can be rotated about a vertical axis. At least one second (30, 30') of the at least two working stations (20, 20', 30, 30') has at least one horizontal shifting unit (5) that can travel and/or be moved, via which the articles (4) and/or parcelled goods combined into groups (3) can be shifted in a transverse manner in relation to the transport direction (TR) of the horizontal conveying device (5).
