Summary:A clamp arrangement 30 for clamping an underwater power generating system to a support has an open position (figure 4), a bearing position (figure 5) in which the power generation unit 4 is rotatable with respect to the support structure 2, and a closed position (figure 6) in which the power generating unit 4 is fixed with respect to the support structure 2. The clamp 30 has a first actuator 62 for moving between open and bearing positions, and a second actuator 72 for moving between bearing and closed positions. The second actuator includes an over centre mechanism 64, 66 to ensure that the clamp can remain closed without relying on the actuator 72. The system may also include a Watts Linkage 46, 54, 58 to ensure symmetrical movement of the clamp arms 34, 38.
