The invention provides an apparatus and method for generating dynamic playlists utilising device co-presence proximity, the apparatus comprising at least one processor; and at least one memory including a computer program code, wherein the at least one memory and computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to identify a user's music preferences by analysing a listening history on a device of a user, and the at least one processor and the at least one memory are further configured to initiate recognition of second devices that are co-present within a set proximity of a first device and at least one third device that is outside the set proximity of the first device and is co-present within a set proximity of at least one of the second devices, for purposes of matching such devices, wherein the at least one processor and the at least one memory are further configured to generate a dynamic playlist based on matched devices being co-present within a set proximity.
