The invention relates to a bending spring device (13) having a first annular receiving device (3) and having a second receiving device (4) disposed spaced apart along a central axis (5) of the bending spring device (13), between which a plurality of buckling rods (2) are disposed concentrically about the central axis (5), wherein each buckling rod (2) is secured at each of the two ends of each buckling rod (2) in a respective bearing device in the receiving devices (3, 4) and wherein in the event of an axial pressure load on the bent spring device (13) the buckling rods (2) buckle resiliently sideways. According to the invention, by a configuration of the buckling rods (2) and by a configuration, which is dependent thereon, of the bearing devices in the receiving devices (3, 4) the lateral deflection of the buckling rods (2) during buckling takes place inside an installation space which is necessary for the unloaded bending spring device (13). The lateral deflection of each buckling rod (2) takes place in a bending direction which extends in an angular region between a central direction directed from a central axis of the buckling rod (2) radially inwards towards the central axis (5) of the bending spring device (13) and a tangential direction directed tangentially to a point closest to the central axis (10) of the bent rod (2) of an outer circumferential line of the receiving device (3, 4).
