Summary:The present invention provides an appliance (1) for cooking food under pressure, the appliance comprising a container (2), a cover (3) and a first positioning element (6) fixed to the cover (3), and the first positioning element (6) is at least formed by a first portion (7) provided on the cover (3) and a second portion (8) extends outwardly from the first portion (7) so as to radially protrude beyond the cover (3). The further comprises a second positioning element (10) fixed to the container (2), the container (2) and the cover (3) are designed to be combined by the opposite arrangement according to the first predetermined, the first positioning element (6) and the second positioning element (10) are corresponding to lock the cover (3) to the container (2). The appliance is characterized in that the first positioning element (6) further comprises a reinforcing member (12) fixed to the second portion (8) and at least shaped to thermally protect the second portion (8). The present invention is applicable to utensils that are cooked under pressure.
