Summary:The present invention relates to contactless connector systems for inductively transmitting power between a power transmitting connector and a power receiving connector. The power receiving connector comprises a secondary sided inductive coupling element (Ls) to be coupled with a primary sided inductive coupling element (Lp), a power input/output terminal (142), and a secondary sided data transceiver element (128) operable to form a data link with a primary sided data transceiver element (124). A secondary sided control unit (136) has a power supply terminal (146) for being supplied with electrical power. A switching unit (140) is connected to said power input/output terminal (142) for controlling the electric power output at the power input/output terminal (142), wherein the switching unit (140) is further operable to connect said power supply terminal (146) either to the secondary sided inductive coupling element (Ls) or to the power input/output terminal.
