Summary: | A subsea medium voltage vacuum circuit breaker assembly in a SF6 isolated pressure housing for the use in high pressure environments. Comprising a vacuum interrupter with a fixed contact side and a movable contract side with a movable rod, and a drive in pressure tight insulating housing, and electrical terminals to the vacuum interrupter integrated into the SF6 isolated pressure housing further comprising an additional pressure tight housing (10) attached pressure tightly to the insulating housing (1, 1 a, 1 b) at the movable contact side of the vacuum interrupter with the movable rod, and that the inner volume (7a) of the SF6 insulated pressure tight housing (1, 1a, 1 b) is gastightly separated from the inner volume (7b) of the additional pressure tight housing by a bellow (8), through which the movable rod is guided trough and mechanically coupled to a drive (6), which is arranged inside the additional housing. This in order to achieve a compact assembly due to the better electrical isolation of SF6 allowing smaller insulation distances. |
