More Information
Summary:A printed energy storage device (10) includes a first electrode (2) including zinc, a second electrode (5) including manganese dioxide, and a separator (4) between the first electrode (2) and the second electrode (5) , the first electrode (2), second electrode (5), and separator (4) printed onto a substrate (8). The device may include a first current collector (1) and/or a second current collector (6) printed onto the substrate (8). The energy storage device (10) may include a printed intermediate layer (3) between the separator (4) and the first (2) or second electrode (5). The first electrode (2) and the second electrode (5) may include 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (C 2 mimBF 4 ). The separator (4) can be a porous separator and may include a liquid electrolyte including a zinc salt and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (C 2 mimBF 4 ). The first electrode (2) and/or the second electrode (5), may include an electrolyte including zinc tetrafluoroborate (ZnBF 4 ) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (C 2 mimBF 4 ). The separator, the first electrode and/or the second electrode can include a styrene butadiene rubber.
