The present invention relates to a thermoelectric temperature-control unit (5), having a first contact plate (15), having a second contact plate (16), and having at least one plate-shaped thermoelectric transducer (17) which has a first transducer side (20) and a second transducer side (21), facing away therefrom, wherein the respective thermoelectric transducer (17) is arranged between the first contact plate (15) and the second contact plate (16), is coupled in a heat-transmitting fashion by its first transducer side (20) to the first contact plate (15), and is coupled in a heat-transmitting fashion by its second transducer side (21) to the second contact plate (16). Improved efficiency results, in the region of the respective thermoelectric transducer (17), if at least one such contact plate (15, 16) has, on an inner side (23, 24) facing the respective other contact plate (15, 16), a coupling zone (22) which is surrounded along its circumference by a groove (25) formed in the inner side (23, 24), if a heat-conducting material (26) is arranged in the groove (25) and along the coupling zone (22), and if the heat-conducting material (26) is directly in contact with the inner side (23, 24) of the respective contact plate (15, 16), on the one hand, and with the respective transducer side (20, 21), on the other.
