Summary:The invention provides an autonomous work device, especially relates to an autonomous lawnmower. The device compirses at least one detection device and at least one controlling and/or regulating unit, wherein the detection device is arranged for initially at least limiting an operation region by means of a temporary marking device, and the controlling and/or regulating unit is used for arranged for at least partially mapping the operating region. The controlling and/or regulating unit is provided in a regula operating phase for navigation of the autonomous work device depending on the mapped operating regin without depending on at least one temperary marking device.
