Summary:The present invention relates to a Treg cell activator for regulatory (Treg) cell activation via interaction with a Treg cell epitope as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 which is HIV-1 gp120, or HIV-1 gp120 derived fragments, peptides or polypeptides thereof comprising an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO.: 3, SEQ ID NO.: 4, SEQ ID NO.: 5, SEQ ID NO.: 6, SEQ ID NO.: 7, SEQ ID NO.: 8, SEQ ID NO.: 9, or SEQ ID NO.: 10 for use in a method for the prevention or treatment of a disease, which is characterized in that its clinical picture is influenced positively by an increase of activated Treg cells in response to the Treg cell activator.
