Summary:The present invention relates to a household appliance having a solenoid valve (101) that comprises a membrane (103) having a pilot control opening (105), a control pin (107) for closing the pilot control opening and a spring system (109) for subjecting said control pin to a force, the spring system having a first spring constant for pressing the control pin onto the pilot control opening when the pilot control opening is in a closed state and a second spring constant for holding the control pin in a balanced position when the pilot control opening is in an open state.
