The invention relates to a method for displaying processing information on a cooking process which is being carried out in a cooking device. A multifunctional display surface (10) is used which is divided into a main display region (12) and at least two auxiliary display regions (22, 24, 26, 28), and a pillar-like display element (14) is displayed in the main display region (12), said display element containing information on a moisture content of a cooking atmosphere in a cooking chamber of the cooking device and information on the temperature of the cooking atmosphere. The moisture information is displayed in the form of a display drum (16), the temperature information is displayed in the form of a temperature pillar (20) on the display drum (16), and the moisture information is additionally displayed as color information dependent on the moisture and the temperature. The invention also relates to a cooking device with a display device on which processing information on a cooking process that is being carried out in the cooking device can be displayed by means of the aforementioned method.
