Summary:A bus (108) for distributing electrical power to a plurality of sets of electrical devices is disclosed. The bus includes one or more bus separators and a plurality of bus sections. The plurality of bus sections includes at least a first bus section (110) and a second bus section (112) electrically coupled to each other via a bus separator (114). The first bus section (110) is electrically connectable to a first set of electrical devices (102, 104) having a first importance metric and the second bus section (112) is electrically connectable to a second set of electrical devices (106) having a second importance metric different from the first importance metric. The bus separator (114) is configured to isolate the first bus section (110) and the second bus section (112) based on occurrence of a fault condition. A DC power distribution system employing the bus and a method for distributing electrical power via the bus are also disclosed.
