Summary:A method for obtaining information about proteinuria and/or nephropathy from urine samples is provided. In one or more embodiments, a method for evaluating a urine sample includes the following: detecting proteins in the urine sample with two types of detection reagents that differ in reactivity to one urinary protein; and evaluating the urine sample based on an indicator that is calculated using the results of the detection with the two types of detection reagents. In one or more other embodiments, a method for evaluating a urine sample includes the following: detecting proteins in the urine sample with two types of detection reagents that differ in their relative reactivity to a urinary protein a and a urinary protein b; and evaluating the urine sample based on an indicator that is calculated using the results of the detection with the two types of detection reagents.
