Summary:Disclosed is a monitoring system for determining the efficacy of at least one compression device for use in compression therapy. The monitoring system comprises at least one pressure sensor for measuring a pressure exerted onto a body part of a user by the compression device, at least one attitude sensor for acquiring at least one attitude information on at least one of a position, an orientation and a movement of the user, at least one measuring device having at least one evaluation unit. The measuring device is adapted to communicate with the pressure sensor and the attitude sensor. The evaluation unit is adapted to receive at least one attitude information acquired by the attitude sensor. The evaluation unit is adapted to automatically combine the pressure value and the attitude information in order to determine at least one key figure K indicating the efficacy of the compression device taking into account the attitude information.
