Summary: | The method involves emitting a measurement signal i.e. light signal, to a target object, in which a start signal (S) is produced. The measurement signal is back scattered from the target object as a target signal (Z). The target signal and the start signal are optionally sampled in first and second sampling at various sampling rates such that distance to the target object is determined from a relative position from the start signal and the target signal. The sampling rate of the second sampling is determined based on the first sampling. An independent claim is also included for a distance measuring element. |
