It is detected that the data comprises an attachment. An address of a copy of the attachment is determined (215), the attachment present on a storage device external to the communication devices. An address of the copy (240) of the attachment is substituted (250) in the data such that the copy is retrievable (270) at the second communication device via the address. The data is then transmitted (260) to the second communication device.
