Summary:The invention concerns a test tape device comprising a housing (12) having a cassette compartment (22) for a replaceable tape cassette (14), a cassette door (20) which can be retained in a closed position and which allows access to the cassette compartment (22) through a housing opening (21) in an open position, a tip cover (24) which can be positioned in a first position covering a housing aperture (26) and a second position allowing access to a tip (16) of the tape cassette (14), wherein the tip cover (24) is moveable to a third position in which the cassette tip (16) is at least partially uncovered and the housing opening (21) is extended into the area of the cassette tip (16), and wherein the cassette door (20) is self-opening when moving the tip cover (24) to the third position.
