Summary:A spindle unit for a rolling mill includes: a pair of upper and lower drive shafts disposed between a pair of upper and lower rolls and a motor; a pair of upper and lower cross joints disposed between the rolls and the roll-side paired end portions of the drive shafts; and a pair of upper and lower tubular first yokes each having a connection portion formed at one axial end portion of the corresponding yoke and connected to the corresponding cross joint, and each having a fitting hole into which a rotary shaft of the roll is press-fitted, the fitting hole being formed in the other axial end portion of the corresponding first yoke and having a capsule-like sectional shape around an axis of the corresponding yoke. The first yokes are formed such that formation positions of the fitting holes with respect to the connection portions coincide with each other.
