Summary:An object of the present invention is to provide a polyurethane elastic fiber having excellent mechanical characteristics, particularly excellent stress characteristics in the region of 100 to 200% elongation which is the region of actual use, while containing an organic diisocyanate compound excellent in yellowing resistance. The object is achieved by a polyurethane elastic fiber containing a polyurethane polymerized from a polyol, an organic diisocyanate compound, and a diol compound, wherein the organic diisocyanate compound contains at least 1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, and the trans/cis isomer ratio of the 1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane is 70/30 to 95/5.
