Summary: | An aspect of the present invention relates to an eyeglass lens comprising a coating through a hardcoat layer over a lens substrate, wherein the coating comprises a laminate structure of adjacent layers in the form of a first vapor deposition layer formed by vapor deposition with a vapor deposition source comprising a main component in the form of SiO 2 and a second vapor deposition layer formed by vapor deposition with a vapor deposition source comprising a main component in the form of Ta 2 O 5 or ZrO 2 the first vapor deposition layer has a nanoindentation hardness of equal to or higher than 5.0 GPa and a compressive stress of equal to or lower than 600 MPa, and the second vapor deposition layer has a nanoindentation hardness of equal to or higher than 7.5 GPa and a compressive stress of equal to or lower than 350 MPa. |
