Summary:The invention relates to an electroacoustic converter, in particular an emitter converter, for underwater operation. According to the invention, a hollow cylindrical ring body (10) is structured from a plurality of ring segments (12), which can be positioned next to each other in a ring shape. Each ring segment (12) has at least one ceramic segment (20) which is embedded in the ring segment (12) by means of a gel filling (30) enclosing the ceramic segment (20). The ring body (10) has a wrapping (22) contacting the ceramic segments (20) on the outside for fastening the ceramic segments (20). The invention further relates to an acoustic underwater antenna, in particular a trailing antenna, having a flexible, sound-transparent hose in which at least two of the previously described electroacoustic converters are arranged, spaced apart from each other.
