Summary:The tensioning device (1) has a tensioning belt (2) having two ends (4,5), and a tensioning head (6) comprising a housing (7). The housing is fastened in area of the former end at the tensioning belt. The tensioning belt has an engagement geometry (3) at a surface. The engagement geometry is brought in engagement with an engaging element in the housing. The engaging element is formed as tensioning screw (9), which is connected with the housing through a hinged connection. The tensioning screw has an extension adjacent to a threaded section. The extension is inserted in an opening in the housing and forms a portion of the hinged connection. The extension has a thickening at its end facing away from the threaded section.
