The tool magazine has a station-far magazine unit (22) with permanent tool carrier (23) and temporary tool carrier (27). The tool carriers includes storage bins for tools (15) which are transferred from magazine unit (22) to a station-near magazine unit (12). The tool carrier (23) is permanently arranged for a tool handling device (24). The tool carrier (27) is temporarily arranged for tool handling device. The tool carrier (23) is accessible to removal of tools from magazine unit (22) to magazine unit (12), and/or to transfer of tools from magazine unit (12) to magazine unit (22). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) machine arrangement for processing workpieces; and (2) method for managing tools for processing workpiece.
