Wide-angle optical imaging system including two objectives

Imaging optical system comprising a plurality of wide-angle lenses (A, B), each one having an angle-of-view greater than 360/n degrees, where n is the number of wide-angle lenses. Each wide-angle lens includes a centre-portion where incident rays do not overlap and a peripheral-portion where inciden...

Summary:Imaging optical system comprising a plurality of wide-angle lenses (A, B), each one having an angle-of-view greater than 360/n degrees, where n is the number of wide-angle lenses. Each wide-angle lens includes a centre-portion where incident rays do not overlap and a peripheral-portion where incident rays do overlap. For each wide-angle lens, the magnification per unit angle-of-view in the centre-portion increases from the centre towards its edge whereas the rate of increase of the magnification per unit angle-of-view in the peripheral portion decreases from the boundary of the centre portion towards its edge.
