Summary:The arrangement can be applied to a compressor which comprises a compression cylinder closed by a valve plate provided with seat regions and with respective suction orifice and discharge orifice which are closed by a sealing end portion of a respective valve vane, to be peripherally seated against its seat region. The valve plate carries a support means, defined in the central region of the contour of at least one of the suction orifice and discharge orifice and incorporated to the valve plate by at least one radial arm. The support means has a stop surface, against which is seated a central region of the sealing end portion of the respective vane, said stop surface defining a projection in relation to the radial arm.
