Summary: | The present invention relates to the field of electrochemical sensors, design and transduction techniques. In particular, the invention relates to a sensor for a selective electrochemical detection of an analyte compound in a fluid, the sensor comprising:
a) a first working electrode;
b) a second working electrode covered by a second membrane coating. The second working electrode is in proximity to a catalyst and the second membrane coating is permeable for the analyte compound, whereby the catalyst is capable of catalysing the conversion of the analyte compound into a detection compound. The detection compound can be detected by the first working electrode and by the second working electrode. The analyte compound is selected from the group consisting of reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species. |
