Summary:The invention relates a method for operating a power plant with a single shaft gas turbine (6), in which the gas turbine (6) is operated at a constant speed which is below the speed at which the gas turbine (6) is turning when the first generator (25) is synchronized to an electric grid (39). The proposed method ensures good stable combustion with low emissions, a high turbine exhaust temperature, and minimized fuel consumption. Besides the method, a power plant comprising a single shaft gas turbine (6) designed and configured to carry out such a method is an object of the invention.
