Summary:The method (400) involves discretizing differential equation systems in place and time (410), and determining a discretized phase space between states from transition probabilities (415). A first contamination at first time in a location of a line network is detected (420). An inaccuracy of the detection of the contamination is determined. A first probability distribution of states of the discrete phase space is determined (425). A second probability distribution that is temporally offset to the first distribution based on the transition probabilities, is determined (430) and provided. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for performing a method for determining a contamination in a drinking water network.
