A power supply system including: a power storage device (104) which is connected to a system power supply (101) and is chargeable and dischargeable; a second load (103) which is connected in parallel to the power storage device (104); a power generation device (105) which is connected to the second load (103), generates power, supplies the generated power to the second load (103), and performs a shutdown process for stopping power generation using power supplied from the power storage device (104); and a determination device (108) which determines whether or not a remaining amount of power in the power storage device (104) is greater than a shutdown power amount which is an amount of power necessary for the power generation device (105) to perform the shutdown process, in which the power generation device (105) performs, while in operation, the shutdown process or supplying of power to the power storage device (104) according to the determination by the determination device (108).
