Summary:Process for the preparation of an extract from leaves of plants of the order Vitales, comprising the following steps: a) provision of a drug from leaves of plants of the order Vitales, b) extraction of the drug using an eluent selected from among water and water/alcohol mixtures so as to obtain a crude extract, c) separation of the crude extract from the extracted drug, d) at least partial removal of the eluent so as to obtain a thickened extract, e) redissolution of the thickened extract in water, f) separating-off of insolubles, g) selective enrichment of secondary plant constituents by i. a 2-phase extraction or ii. a membrane filtration.
