Summary:Methods and systems provide for displaying advertisement items on mobile devices in response to user selections. Advertisement items may be transmitted to mobile devices ahead of an insertion point and stored in memory. While displaying a content item, mobile devices may display a list of alternatives related advertisement content and prompt the user to select one. Mobile devices may determine an advertisement content item to display at the insertion point based on a received user input or lack of an input. In a further embodiment, mobile devices report displayed advertisement items to a service, such as the distributor, content provider, or a third party. In a further embodiment, the selection of alternative advertisement items to present to the user is made based upon weighting values associated with each advertisement item. Such weighting values may be adjusted when advertisement items are displayed or listed in a user interface display.
