Summary:The method involves guiding cooling gas-hydrogen (2) contaminated with water through hygroscopic fluid (4) e.g. lithium bromide, lithium chloride, calcium chloride or glycerine, where the hygroscopic fluid extracts the water from the cooling gas-hydrogen and stays in contact with the cooling gas-hydrogen at a supply point (7). A regeneration unit (9) is designed with a heating unit (11) for increasing temperature of the hygroscopic fluid to separate the water from the hygroscopic fluid. Cleaned hydrogen (5) is supplied to a hydrogen-cooled generator over a discharge pipe (6). An independent claim is also included for a hydrogen-cooled generator comprising a drying regeneration-unit.
