Summary:The device (1) has a fuel container (9) for supplying fuel to a fuel consumer (5) over a fuel pipe (11). A pretensioning device (13) pretensions the fuel in the pipe and has an energy storage (19). A control unit (23) e.g. 2/2-way-switching valve, controls a connection pipe (25) between the pretensioning device and the fuel pipe such that the connection pipe is partially locked or released. The energy storage is designed in the form of a gas storage and made from compressible material, and a fuel conveyor device has two conveyor units (15, 21) e.g. low pressure and high-pressure pumps.
