Summary:The present invention is a rotor capable of suppressing vibrations which may otherwise be caused by a whirling motion of the rotor. A plurality of permanent magnets (20) are arranged annularly around a predetermined axis (P). A rotor core (10) includes 2N (N is a natural number equal to or greater than three) magnetic pole faces and (2N+1) magnetic barriers (111). The 2N magnetic pole faces produce, due to the plurality of permanent magnets (20), magnetic poles in a radial direction in such a manner that different polarities can be alternately produced around the axis P. The (2N+1) magnetic barriers (111) are provided at a side close to the magnetic pole faces relative to the permanent magnets (20). Each of the magnetic barriers (111) is provided in each of regions obtained by equally dividing the rotor core (10) into (2N+1) in angle around the axis P.
