Summary:The method involves mixing a portion of compressed air extracted from compressed-air accumulator (04) with another portion of the compressed air extracted from the compressed air accumulator at constant turbo-machine (02,03) inlet temperature (T). The latter portion is heated by heat from heat accumulator (05). The mixed compressed air is supplied to a turbo-machine (03) for decompressing. An independent claim is also included for adiabatic compressed air energy storage with a turbine engine for compressing or decompression of compressed air.
