Summary: | When an automatic stop demand is generated during engine operation, fuel cutoff is started and a throttle opening degree is switched to a fully-closed position. Thereafter, when a restart demand is generated, the throttle opening degree is made larger than that at the time of idling rotation control so as to make an intake air amount during a period of restart control larger than that at the time of idling rotation control, and fuel injection is restarted, so that starterless starting is performed to restart the engine by only fuel injection without using a starter. Thus, when the engine rotation speed has exceeded a restart completion determination value, restart completion is determined to terminate the restart control, and the throttle opening degree is caused to return to a target throttle opening degree at an ordinary throttle control time. |
