Summary:The invention relates to an OLED device (100) with a planar rigid carrier substrate (10) on which an OLED structure with electrode layers (11, 13) and an intermediate organic electroluminescent layer (12) is disposed. The device further comprises a soft frame (20) that at least partially covers the edges of the carrier substrate and/or the OLED structure. By the selection of appropriate materials, for example leather or fabrics, the frame (20) can be given an aesthetically pleasant appearance.
