Summary:Aqueous urea resin mixture comprises a resin (40-70 wt.% based on the aqueous urea resin mixture) comprising urea and formaldehyde in a molar ratio of 1:1.3- 1:2, polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 200-1500, and optionally a component (M) comprising diethylene glycol, glycerin or caprolactam. Independent claims are also included for: (1) preparing the aqueous urea resin mixture comprising reacting urea and formaldehyde in a molar ratio of 1:1.3- 1:2 in an aqueous medium of pH 4-8, at 60-110[deg] C, and adding the mixture with polyethylene glycol and optionally the component (M); (2) an impregnate obtainable by treating an absorbent material with the aqueous urea resin mixture and then drying; (3) producing a composite material comprising applying the impregnate on a support material under heat and pressure; and (4) the composite material obtained by the above method.
