A printing apparatus in which pages to be subjected to one-sided printing and pages to be subjected to two-sided printing in a job are identified. Printing control is performed such that an image of a first surface, contained in the images of the pages to be subjected to the two-sided printing following the page to be subjected to the one-sided printing, is printed prior to the image of the page to be subjected to the one-sided printing, and such that the image of the page to be subjected to the one-sided printing is printed between the printing of the image of the first surface and the image of a second surface contained in the images to be subjected to the two-sided printing and wherein in a case where a plurality of sheets having a predetermined order are to be used for the job, this printing control is not performed.
