The appliance (1) i.e. hand blender (10), has a food processing tool (11) comprising a drive shaft (12) that is operatively connected with a motor of the appliance. An adjustable protective cover (13) for covering the tool is arranged along an axis (A) of the drive shaft. The protective cover is provided with an opening (14) and formed in disk shape or plate shape, where the drive shaft runs through the opening. The opening of the protective cover comprises a projection that cooperates with a guiding unit i.e. guiding groove, of the drive shaft. The projection is designed as a sliding piece. Es wird ein Handküchengerät (1), insbesondere Stabmixer (10), mit mindestens einem Werkzeug (11) zur Nahrungsmittelbearbeitung bereitgestellt, wobei das Werkzeug (11) einen Antriebsschaft (12) aufweist, der mit einem Motor (40) des Handküchengeräts wirkverbindbar ist, wobei am Antriebsschaft (12) eine verschiebbare Schutzabdeckung (13) für das Werkzeug (11) angeordnet ist. Mit der Erfindung ist vorteilhaft erreichbar, dass ein Handküchengerät, insbesondere Stabmixer unterschiedliche Funktionen bereitstellen kann.
